I dont care if you dont care

Where are you from?
I live in a little quiet place close to Udine, Italy.
When is your birthday?
It's June on7, 7 is a magic number^_^
What are you doing?
Actually I run a bookshop in Codroipo (www.libreriamolaro.com). the best bookstore in town YEH You can find even some good CDs, only alternative and electronic music and other alternative stuff;)
In my spare time I do collaborate with Connesso Magazine and Rastasnob, two italian magazines. I do a radio show once a week in radio Onde Furlane, alternative radio, based in Udine. Im using my new mixer Pioneer and CDJ players and music softwares creating something fabulous and mixing my favourites sounds. I have a degree in Political Science. Then at the end of June 2005 I finished succesfully a course in Intercultural Journalism here in Italy and who knows mayb oneday I shall go to do a Master in Journalism at the Columbia University^_^.
I speak English and Spanish and just a very little Slovenian. Actually Im also writing my first book...so stay tuned!!! I worked as webdesigner using Macromedia Dreamweaver and now Im trying to learn Php and I create as well some crappy stuff using Adobe Audition and Soundforge.
When did you start to collaborate with the radio?
I started in 2002 but I've been always involved in music. I even write for magazines reviews of gigs or records and I make interviews to bands or singers from all over the world. Ive been lucky meeting and interviewing good artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Trilok Gurtu, Apache Indian, Capleton, Scanner,Robert Miles, DJ Spooky just to name a few. I've even interviewed a band from Colombia: the Alerta.
For which magazines are you writing?
I have a monthly review called "London Vibes" in Rastasnob, a reggae magazine from Mestre (Italy). I write about London nite-life, cool clubs, trendy music and many more stuff linked to music. I've even written and still write for "Connessomagazine" from Udine, about gigs or interviews. Then, of course, I write a blog about the Rototom Sunsplash check the sunsplash news, daily updated, and for my own website I write about my radio program, reviews, interviews and what pass on my mind.
What music do you play in "Chill out Babylonia"?
My music program is from reggae dub dancehall to electronic, ambient IDM and asian, chill out. You shud listen to my records^_^
What are your favourites artists?
Well this is a very difficult question. I like a lot of stuff. At the moment Im into ambient electro and chill out music. I like lots dance music, drum'n'bass better if mixed with reggae, electrodance. Songs that make you dance and make you feel vibes, energy and emotions, especially during concerts. I'd love to see live: Gorillaz, Capleton, Sizzla, Asian Dub Foundation, DJ Spooky, Groove Armada, Moby, Anthony B, The Cure, Robert Plant, Rolling Stones. I wud have loved to see Niravana and Culture Club.
An artist you would like to interview?
For sure Gorillaz, Moby, Bob Sinclair and Sean Paul, as regards italian artists: Morgan , Giovanni Ferretti, 24 Grana, Subsonica...Being a dreamer Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, Depeche Mode, Red Hot Chili Peppers and onceagain Lee Scratch Perry...
Which artist has impressed you most from the people you've spoken to?
Surely Lee Scratch Perry, a genius and a wonderful person!!!!
Do you play some instruments?
I learnt to play percussion instruments and sometimes I like to disturb the peace of my neighbours playing my Djembè. I'm also learning to use Soundforge and Adobe Audition to create an electro-reggae-dance sperimental and futuristic hit to smash the charts all over da world:)))
Your favourite animal?
Surely the sloth, a gorgeous animal, enchanting. everybody shud live that way.. slowly and slowly taste life, with no hurry!
What is your favourite movie?
I have many movies that I like. I can say the directors I love most are: Jim Jarmusch and Wim Wenders, those I find most similar to me. I love all the movies by Jim Jarmusch and "Untill the end of the world" by Wim Wenders is enchanting. Oh then I love a lot the movie "Point break"(1991) by Kathryn Bigelow, because of the philosophy of life in the characters.
Which of the latest movies you've seen has impressed you most?
Recently Ive not been too much at the cinema due to the fact Im not finding any interesting movie around. Ive seen long time ago that good documentary about Joe Strummer. then Ive seen "Auf der anderen seite" by Fatih Akin but this movie left me a bad taste in my mouth;)
A good movie is Sex and Philosophy that speaks a little about life and happy moments in life, that at the end are just minutes! wher's happiness? you can see ur past life and see that you got just few minutes of happiness....jajaja
Another good movie is "Crash" by Paul Haggis. The last scene of Los Angeles under the snow is truly exciting. A weird movie but nice has been "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Garth Jennings.
What about Books?
Having a bookshop I can suggest many many books. recently out by Fred Vargas everything, "Gomorrah" by Saviano, Stefano Benni, Philip Roth, "l'ospite inquietante" by Galimberti, Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis very human love Anthony Kiedis..."Room full of mirrors" by Charles R. Cross, it's a biography about Jimi Hendrix, a genius!!! Ive read many books these latest months: "The Kite Runner" and "Thousand splendid suns" by kalhed Hosseini, truly beautiful, "Penelope va alla guerra" e "Lettera a un bambino mai nato" by Fallaci and now Im reading "Il sesso inutile" by Fallaci, she's such a good writer, "la morte della farfalla" by Pietro Citati .., by Coelho "Manual do guerreiro da luz", because a warrior I wanna be onceagain. I still have to finish by Tiziano Terzani "Un altro giro di giostra", a book that I suggest you to buy. Every page makes you think and meditate and it's written very well as all the books by Terzani that I suggest you to read. A man that has always travelled a lot and a open-minded person that knows how to write and what. Then another good book to read is an interesting book about East Germany before November 1989. I suggest you to read this book, it will open your eyes. By Anna Funder "Stasiland". I finished also "A black Englishmen" by Carolin Slaughter, that mayb has some mistakes in some parts but makes you curious to know the story of the book and even makes u mediatate about how cruel men can be.
What's your favourite book?
Well I love by Kerouack "On the road" and "The great gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Those two are my favourites...then mayb "L'insostenibile leggerezza dell'essere" by Kundera.... and, last but not least, by Pier Vittorio Tondelli "Un week-end postmoderno" this one is a good one about all '80s in Italy. I even like a lot: by S. Benni "La compagnia dei celestini", by H. Miller "Tropico del cancro", by Cocteau "Les enfants terribles" and by I. Santacroce "Destroy".
Music news?
I wanna tell ya Catherine Duc, Professor Skunk, Mrfd, La Monte and many more coming as soon as I find time to come here adn update
Next trips?
My next trip?? I dunno...I wish to go to Tahiti very soon and stay there^_^
Is there a place where u always want to go back with pleasure in Europe?
Mayb and yes still always London. It's energising!!! When you walk on the streets of London and you think that where you're walking, on the same street passed people as Shakespeare, William Blake, Dickens..well I've thrills!! Then its parks, especially on summer , are wonderful. I have many good memories about some great picnics in the london parks^_^ Tate Modern is great. Clubs also, with latest trends, make you live a unique atmosphere, that you can find and breath only there. London is musically a breath of fresh air. I love London, it's a overall, desperate love, as you love places where lots happened to you and as you love regardless places that -for some reasons- stopped to make you happy.
A particular memory?
In London? Well my
favourite place in London is Camden Town, I do really love the place and my jamaican good friends working there too, spent with them just only good time and positive vibes. Them always in my heart! and then some beautiful memories about my staying in Eleanor Close, near canada water, with my bredda, such a good time there and good pizzas full of vegetables^_^. and then all the Notting Hill Carnival lovely time with Yom!
Had fun in london....aaah another funny memory is about some good extra love shared with my ex Harmi aka Infinite Scale...oh poor dull boy now :) It has been funny when he has checked time on his mobile, at one of our rendez-vous, surprised that was already half past 7 PM istead of 5! Time flys when you are spending a good loving time with a special beautiful girl ehehe!!!
and I can still feel the smell of London!!!
Some excellent good memories from my tripin the US. Has been very exciting visiting New York, everything in New York is special. I particulary liked my trip to Ellis Island and the museum about immigration, very interesting, nah miss it!!! I wud love to go back in NY soon. I still have many things to see over there.
As regards interviews, indeed, when I've spoken to Marcia Griffiths, on April 22nd 2005 at the Festintenda in Mortegliano (UD) has happened something strange. I sat on a sofa close to her and she was very paceful and confident and she passed on such a peace. I've never felt vibes so strong except a long, long time ago when Ive spoken with a Hare Krishna!! Speaking to Marcia I felt something inside, peace, a good feeeling. It has been a strong emotion but calm, very chilled out. She must be a very spiritual person to make people feel such strong vibes. Another good memory has been my chat with Abijah, very sweet!!!
A good gig that u've seen recently?

Recently there are no good gigs around so we prefer stay at home listening to music on the net and have fun staying in bed^_^
Years ago good gig has been by la Monte them make u shake ur ass bumbum ^_^ buy CD "Here comes the skinny roller" u'll tell me thanx for sure!! Ive seen Red Hot chili Peppers good gig but short. Reading Anthony Kiedis book Im appreciating him more, he's such a human genuine guy. Years ago has been a wonderful nite for the All Frontiers Festival so Ive seen the legendary Charlemagne Palestine and I do really appreciate his performance, then Sabina Meyer not really my music but good performance and that Subliminal Kid DJ Spooky that Ive been honoured to speak to, wow...S U P E R!!! very nice, I do really appreciate seeing Jimi Hendrix on the big screen and his amazing remix and scratching too, big up DJ Spooky!!!
I'm very happy I met DJ Spooky in this life;)!!!
On summer I liked especially the Apache Indian gig during the Sunsplash, really GREAT!!!! a year later, in 2008, the Asian Dub Foundation too, very special gig. I wish to see them soon again!!!
I really enjoyed seeing Robert Plant. His voice is amazing and powerful and vibrations were good...well whole lotta love....always one of my favourites and listen to it sang by him live is more beautiful!!
Best gig?
I wud say Groove Armada seen in No Borders Festival (Tarvisio) and at Brixton Academy, in London and I have to say that all gigs I've seen in Brixton Academy were Magic. Another amazing gig has been the dancing/jumping one of Asian Dub Foundation at New Age, in Treviso and recently at the rototom sunsplash...very sweaty. I like people that with them music make me jump and dance, dance dance dance and naturally.....sweat!!! Another gig I enjoyed tons has been Moby at the No Borders Festival in Tarvisio..good energy!!
Best club?
My favourite one is Cargo in London. It's an amazing place where I've seen for my first time the Orchestral World Groove...big rezpect to my bro Pathaan & Gaudì. I spent a gorgeous incredible nite there first time I went. I met funny asian guys.
Then I love the New Age in Roncade Treviso, very friendly people!!!
Wow and do you have a place that you would like to visit?
A place that really intrigues me now is Dubai and who knows mayb I'll go there soon. or mayb my nxt trip will be Amsterdam!
